‘Clock is Ticking’: Trump speaks to Netanyahu, hints at renewed strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump on Sunday spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as warned Iran that “Clock is Ticking” and the country should “better get moving fast” amid reports of renewed strikes.

“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Earlier, Trump shared an AI-generated image of him and a US Navy admiral in front of stormy waters with a fleet of ships. One of the ships in the image was flying the Iranian flag.

“It was the calm before the storm,” he wrote in the caption of the post on Truth Social.

His conversation with Netanyahu and the post hinting at resuming the war against Iran came days after reports suggested that the US and Israel are preparing to resume attacks on Iran as soon as this week.

Developments in Israel also suggest the fragile ceasefire would not last long in the absence of a peace deal between the US and Iran.

According to Israeli media reports, Prime Minister Netanyahu is set to convene top aides and ministers on Sunday evening for a security discussion in his office in Jerusalem.

Earlier in the day, Netanyahu had said that “our eyes are open regarding Iran” as he expressed confidence in Israel’s preparations for “every scenario”.

“Certainly, there are many possibilities, and we are prepared for every scenario,” he said during his Cabinet’s weekly briefing.

Trump’s threats inflamed by Tel Aviv’s incitement: Iranian Supreme Leader’s adviser

Amid the rhetoric from the US President, Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said that Washington is falling into Israel’s trap and would lose the remnants of its credibility in the West Asia if it wages another war against Iran.

“Trump’s threats, inflamed by Tel Aviv’s incitement, amount to ‘entering a strategic trap’,” Velayati wrote on X.

“Falling into this pit with Israel’s rope carries a heavy price,” he stated.

Velayati further added, “Soon, Washington will have to search with a lantern for the remnants of its credibility in West Asia.”
